About Michael's Boxes

Michael’s Boxes specializes in hand painted Limoges porcelain Boxes. As we employ our own artists in Limoges we maintain a high standard of hand painted decoration. This, coupled with the fact that the moulds and hinging are done by hand assures our customers of a truly individual hand crafted product at very competitive prices. It also allows us to produce our own range of limited edition boxes which are much sought after by the individual customer as well offering them the possibility of having personal inscriptions added or making especially commissioned boxes for businesses, charities or museums for which the minimum order is twenty-five, and allows for a personal service whereby the design and fixing are specified by the client. 

Michael Cassidy started Michael’s Boxes in 1979 and to-day offers a wide range of authentic Limoges boxes properly marked ‘Peint Main’ (which means Hand Painted) ‘Limoges, France’ (which denotes that they are from the town of Limoges in France which has been producing porcelain boxes since the discovery of kaolin in the late 18th.Century). 

The range extends from the classic pill, patch and stamp boxes to collectable themes such as Baby gifts, Animals, Fruit, Vegetables, Travel, Food, Drink, Sewing, Painting, Christmas, Halloween, Fashion and Love and Marriage.

The Boxes usually have a painted motif inside or contain a secret surprise, which add to their enchantment, and the overall design is complimented by the clasp. In our shop they are sold in their own silk lined box and make ideal gifts.
